The Four Pillars Hotels Training Programmes

The Foundation Programme

We have four practical coaching and training schemes designed to develop you at your own pace.

1. Front of House and Administration

Ideal if you already know you want to specialise in customer service at that vital first point of guest contact, and want to use the very best computer technology. Typically you will spend around 12 months in reception, with additional periods in housekeeping and administration and control to give you a complete picture.

2. Food and Drink

For those who prefer to put their customer service skills into practice away from a desk and office-style environment, this is a perfect programme. You will have the opportunity to spend at least 6 months in each of the key food and drink service areas - namely restaurant, conference & banqueting and bar, plus three months assisting behind the scenes in the kitchen.

3. Kitchen Skills

This programme offers you the chance to build on the skills you learnt at college in the faster and more demanding world of food preparation. Creating many dishes from the raw ingredients, you will spend 12 months covering pre-agreed objectives in a variety of kitchen sections as a Commis before spending a month in food service. This is followed by a move to another company hotel as a Senior Commis to widen your experiences and give you a little more responsibility.

4. The Combo Scheme

We know that many people are still not sure about which direction they see their career taking-off in when they first leave college. That doesn'd create a problem for us. We are able to put together an individual programme just for you that combines experiences in Front of House and Food and Drink departments.
